Observing Station Rotations

OVERVIEW

On Day 18, Dr. Fisher invites you to observe a teacher as he implements Station Teaching with his students. The teacher discusses the stations with the students.

Some of the stations have independent tasks while others include collaborative activities. The teacher meets with a small group of students to provide needs-based instruction.

ASSIGNMENT

CLASSROOM TASK: OBSERVE AND ANALYZE

Analyze what you saw in the video. What did you notice about the students and their ability to work together? What did you notice about the teacher and his time with a small group of students? Finalize your plans for Station Teaching in your classroom.Plan the stations to use with your students. What are familiar tasks and activities that your students can engage in? You can plan some stations where the activities are independent tasks, and others that include collaborative tasks.
