Day 30

Reflecting on Your New Instructional Practices

OVERVIEW

Congratulations on completing all of our sessions! On Day 30, Dr. Fisher encourages teachers to reflect on the strategies they have practiced over the course of this series.

WE VALUE YOUR FEEDBACK!

Please fill out this survey to tell us about yourself, demonstrate your learning and share feedback on your experience with 30 Days to Improving Instruction: Collaborative Conversations!

After completing the survey, you will have an opportunity to print your certificate of achievement for participating in the Collaborative Conversations Series.

ASSIGNMENT

REFLECT ON YOUR NEW INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES

Review the reflections in your Reflection Journal for all sessions.

Then, focus on these final reflection questions:

  • Revisit your “Yes, But” list. Have they been resolved? Are there things you still need to learn?
  • Look at your T-Chart of “Useful” and “Not So Useful” strategies. Which ones do your students regularly engage in? Which ones are still not so useful to you?
  • Reflect on your original goal about the percentage of minutes in your classroom where you students talk to each other using academic language.
  • Make a commitment to including time for collaborative conversation in your daily lessson plans. Continue to invite colleagues into your classroom to give you updates on how you’re progressing in meeting the quality indicators for productive group work.
